Q. What does the name: Transylvania come from?
A. It comes from the Latin words: Trans Sylva, which mean: "Beyond the Forrest." The name was given by the Romans during the time of Atila the Hun, who was from Transylvania.

Q. Were any movies filmed in the Real Transylvania?
A. Yes. The movie: Transylvania 6-500 was filmed in Brasov. Bran Castle was extensively used in the movie as well.

Q. Did Dracula invent Impalement?
A. No. Even though one of the worst methods of execution known, Impalement is extremely old. In fact, it's so old that we don't really know when it was first practiced. There is mention of impalement in the Old Testament of the bible though.

Q. Why do the Romanians consider Dracula a hero?
A. Because he saved Europe from the Ottoman Empire.

Q. Did Dracula believe in vampires?
A. Whether or not he did will probably never be known but it is highly unlikely since the myths that typically fueled vampire superstition were regularly disproved before his eyes.

Q. Did Dracula really drink peoples blood.
A. This too is something we may never know the real answer to but it's unlikely. The only account of him actually doing so was propaganda, which tends to be highly unreliable and apart from his ego, the constant threat of disease would have made him very careful about even touching other peoples blood, much less drink it.

A. Earthquakes.

Q. Who killed Dracula?
A. He was beheaded in a skirmish against forces led by Basarab Laiota. No one knows for sure who actually killed him.

A. He was an Orthodox up until the later part of his life where he converted to Catholicism.

A. Yes. There is "Dracula: The Dark Prince" and a movie called: "Vlad Tepes" but it's only done in the Romanian language.
